Ministry Doesn’t Stop!

In January 2021 while the pandemic was growing in SVG I had to ask a tough question.

Was it worth still visiting a lady in her late seventies, or should I wait till cases have calmed down?

After thinking it over I decided to keep coming

Because those visits meant so much to her

The thing about ministry is it can almost always continue. You may have to do extra work or have special precautions, but it CAN CONTINUE!

For us that meant I and the woman always wore a mask when I first came to the house. Then we would use lots of sanitizer, remove our masks, and spend time together. I always put the mask back on when leaving.

The extra work for our safety was totally worth it when I saw the excitement on her face during our visits.

This woman was accustomed to going out and doing things during the week. During the pandemic however, she was stuck at home on the porch. This was obviously very boring, and frustrating for her.

My making the effort to come meant there was something she could look forward to during the week. She knew no matter what, Pastor John would come on Thursday.

The pandemic created some challenges to ministry. Some of this involved government or local rules that kept people from ministering. Of course in situations like that you couldn’t continue. But in some cases ministry was possible, but people didn’t do it because of the difficulty.

This is a very serious problem.

Because sadly ministry isn’t always easy…..

But it is always worth it
