One of the things that I love about living in Saint Vincent is how close we are to the sea. Because of this you can see storm-clouds coming from a distance.
This can lead to some pretty cool pictures contrasting the dark storm clouds with blue sky….
Those contrasts in the sky often remind me of the world that we live in today. It used to be that most in the world (and especially the United States) took a stand for what God said. But today the faithful Believers seem to be overshadowed by darkness of evil.
It can be discouraging sometimes to turn on the news, or check a website, and see the wickedness of this world….
but that just encourages us to shine brighter.
Satan loves to emphasize the darkness and tell us “it’s just too dark! You shouldn’t even try!” But this is what got us into the problem in the first place. Too many Christians said “it’s too dark” and hide their light because it wouldn’t make much of a difference.
And that made the world that much darker
Yes we only have one life to shine for Christ, and that may not seem like much. But the thing about light is it’s contagious. One small candle can encourage others to shine their light brightly. And before you know it, the world is a much brighter place!
Yes we live in a dark world
But that shouldn’t make us hide our light
Instead we must lift it bravely into the darkness
