In January 2021, my cat had a small litter of kittens. Interestingly my other cat “Milk Chocolate” (her first kitten) started to spend lots of time around the kittens.
Part of this was because he wanted to be close to mommy
And part of it was a desire to protect his brothers and sisters
Little boys are created by God with a love for adventure, risk-taking, and fighting! This is connected to their calling to be protectors, and providers for those in need. Specifically this refers too their wives and children, but it also involves those who cannot take care of themselves.
Milk Chocolate knew that those kittens couldn’t really care for themselves (they couldn’t see properly at that point)
So big brother kept a close eye on them!
Sadly manhood today is defined by things that have nothing to do with God’s perfect plan. Being loud, controlling, arrogant, having big muscles, or being better than anyone else now makes you a man.
But manhood isn’t about making yourself look good…
It’s about caring for, and defending the weak.
May the Lord raise up a generation of men who identify not with how strong they are, but how well they protect.
