Missions is Seeing God’s Providence

Thursday morning after finishing prison ministry I started down the road to a local grocery store. after passing through Barrouallie I noticed that my vehicle wasn’t giving enough compression (power) when I pushed down the gas pedal.

about thirteen minutes outside Barrouallie the car’s engine died, and i started to get concerned.

When it wouldn’t start again I was officially concerned!!

after some phone calls to Barrouallie to track down a Mechanic, the Lord in His grace allowed me to get the car started, and get the car back home

This was definitely a frightening experience, but God’s providence (protection) could be clearly seen in it

  1. I didn’t break down on the way to prison, which is a far more dangerous road
  2. I broke down close to Barrouallie (about 15 minutes)
  3. Many people stopped and checked on me
  4. I was able to get in contact with a local mechanic
  5. The Lord helped me get the car started, and back to the mechanic

Thankfully the mechanic helped me find the source of my problem, and by that afternoon I was on my way again.

The Lord reminded me through this experience that God’s providence can be seen in every situation. Unfortunately, in stressful times we are often so focused on the frustration, we never see God!

Wednesday afternoon I was thankful to have my car running well again. And for the reminder God is always there.

Even if we cannot see Him as clearly as we want.
