I don’t usually pay much attention to my memories on Facebook, but a few days ago I saw one that made me stop and smile.
It was a video of me during my two-day quarantine after returning to Saint Vincent after my medical furlough.
Two years ago yesterday on August 29, 2021 I was anxiously awaiting the phone call confirming I didn’t have covid (I did not), that would allow me to return back to Barrouallie.
Two years ago today I was on my porch being welcomed home by my dog!

That video and pictures brought back a flood of memories for me
- the crisis of severe glaucoma in my left eye
- The Lords provision of a medical furlough when I could get surgery done in the States
- Two months of rest, recuperation, and renewal with family
- And returning to Saint Vincent with a renewed vision
And those memories reminded me sometimes it is a good thing to stop, and remember the goodness of God.
Often we are so focused on the present and future challenges that we forget the past. There is nothing wrong with being aggressive, in fact God wants us to be this way! But aggressiveness can make us forget the importance of slowing down, taking a breath, and taking a moment to remember what God has done.
I’m thankful for the facebook memory from quarantine that caught my eye
Because it forced me to stop and remember Gods grace in my life
And focused my busy mind on His constant goodness.
