There is a prisoner who faithfully attends prison services every week. He’s always there with a big smile, a warm handshake, and friendly greeting.

Faithful men like that deserve to be honored so I looked forward to helping him.

But when that day finally came….

I couldn’t do it

Last month he came to me and asked if I could give him a big print Bible to read. My heart sank because the last of my large print Bibles had recently been given away.

For weeks I kept telling him there weren’t any, but he just kept asking. He wasn’t trying to be disrespectful, the desire for a BIble was just so great.

Honestly it broke my heart having to tell him over and over there weren’t any big-print Bibles. But there was no other option.

Last week my Christmas box from the States came. It was encouraging to see the items that I’d purchased, as well as baby dolls, and stuffed animals for children.

But halfway down was a very important item

one big-print Bible !!!!

Tomorrow we are having a little Christmas party for the prisoners with food and refreshments. I cannot think of a better time to place the Bible this man had asked for many times into his hand.

This experience has reminded me that God knows our deepest needs.

And often before the need even arises…..He has already met it.
