A Love that Prosecutes

A Love that Prosecutes

Sunday night was tough for me because during church my security camera, picked up a friend who I loved and trusted, breaking that trust by breaking into my house

It was tough for me…..

But it wasn’t shocking

in this fallen world we are all sinners (including me). and many ministers, as well as missionaries, know the pain of being used by those they care for.

In my heart, I forgave the man

But I still prosecuted him by going to the police

The thing is prosecuting him is an act of love. some people may not see it that way, but it is because that act does not allow him to continue stealing. Allowing him to take advantage is an incredibly unloving act.

Yes in the short term overlooking something like this makes it easier for him and seems loving. But true love cares more about the persons character than their emotion in the moment.

Sometimes love has to be tough.

I am calm about the upcoming court case, because my friend was in the wrong.

And because I am clearly telling him that I love him.
