Glimpses of Glory

Glimpses of Glory

Friday evening I was driving to a church-member’s house . to be honest, I was tired from a week of ministry, and sort of distracted.

That’s when I turned the corner…..

And forgot all my weariness.

on the way from Barrouallie to a nearby community is one of the best views of the sea you will find anywhere. it isn’t uncommon to see tourist buses, or vans pulled over so that people can take pictures of it.

I am usually used to that view (though it is spectacular) but the sunset Friday night stopped me in my tracks.

Actually, I didn’t take the picture till on the way back because that allowed me to pull over, park my van, and get out to take a proper one.

That spectacular sunset reminded me that God’s glory is all around us.

But sometimes he gives us special glimpses of it.

Glimpses of God’s glory would be brief experiences that display his power, majesty, or love for us. They are the Lords way of encouraging us in times of weariness.

I was so thankful for that glimpse of God’s glory Friday.

But wondered how many of them I had missed.

Glimpses of God’s glory aren’t always spectacular like this sunset that caused me to stop and take a picture.

In fact, I believe they are usually easy to miss.

The glory of God can come in the smallest things

  1. An encouraging word.
  2. A moment of rest or relaxation.
  3. A reminder of God’s truth.
  4. Or an act of kindness.

In the busyness of life, we can often pass right by these things, not noticing their glory!

But they display the glory of God and a beautiful way.

In a world where we are focused on rushing from one task to the next, may we keep our eyes open for every day glimpses of God’s glory.
