It’s Okay to be Silly

It’s Okay to be Silly

I enjoyed spending four days with my brother and his family this week. It gave me a chance to tell old stories, laugh at the same jokes, and be a silly uncle for my nieces and nephew.

Much of my silly uncle time was spent with my youngest niece who is eight.

She was sitting at the kitchen table when her mom asked “does she know the tickle monster is?”

Now the tickle monster was made by bending four of my fingers to meet my thumb. He had an exaggerated voice, tickled nieces and nephews (of course), and was silly.

VERY VERY SILLY!!

The truth is she didn’t really know the tickle monster because for obvious reasons, he only comes out when I’m with my nieces and nephews!

But that doesn’t mean I cannot be silly from time to time.

There is a great need for seriousness, self-discipline, and focus in the church today. I would say there’s a greater need today than ever before! But at the same time, there is nothing wrong with having fun…..or being less serious.

I’m not saying we should go around tickling people

But we must remember while working hard, its necessary to have some fun
