God Has Something Better

Last month on a Sunday Evening I shared my ministry at a church that’s less than five-minutes from the house my family moved into when I was twelve. The Lord provided many wonderful memories in that house.

A flood of them came into my mind as I drove by

Most of them were good….

But a few were hard, yet still proclaimed the faithfulness of God.

For six-years the Lord allowed me to serve as a missionary in Melbourne Australia. At the end of that time, because of changing immigration laws (which I understand) it wasn’t possible to return without a permanent visa.

For a period of time I lived with my mom and dad working on an australian visa. And when it became clear that wasn’t possible, looking for another ministry opportunity.

This took longer than expected

And to be honest, was quite discouraging

There were days in that house I couldn’t understand the plan of God. Why close the door to Australia, and not open a new ministry opportunity?

Of course God had not forgotten me

It’s just that His timing wasn’t he same as mine.

In God’s perfect timing a ministry opportunity opened up in Barrouallie, Saint Vincent. A ministry that is quite different than my work in Australia, but I can honestly say it is better. And YES the plan of God is worth waiting for.

That house is a reminder that dark days will indeed come

But so will God’s redemption

And God’s plan is always better.
