Monday morning, I struggled my way through a morning run, but since then I haven’t even attempted one.
Not because I wasn’t strong enough to do it
Not because I didn’t want to
but because it was too cold!!!
The weather in Daniels West Virginia was below 40 degrees Tuesday morning, and a bitter wind made it that much colder! So I have spent most of the day at home where it’s nice and toasty.
The funny thing is in about three weeks (18 days actually) I will be going to the extreme heat of Saint Vincent
At around 8:00 Tuesday morning it was 38 degrees in West Virginia
and 81 degrees in Saint Vincent!!!
I am sure returning to the Caribbean heat of SVG on November 4 will make me sick, and drain my energy after being in the cooler weather of the States.
But after a few weeks I will be okay
because my body adapts to the heat.
One of the most incredible things about our bodies is that they can adapt to extreme conditions if we are in good shape physically. I was able to run in the cold weather till Tuesday, and only stopped them because the wind made it too nasty. And after a few weeks I’ll walk to the roads of SVG where temperature stays in the 80’s.
Pray for me as I go from the cold of West Virginia to the heat of Saint Vincent. That I will endure the initial pain of a changing climate so that others can be reached with the Gospel.
