Wednesday morning I opened up my banking app and my heart sank.

There was a transaction I didn’t make!

Somehow someone got my debit card info (it never left my possession) and was using it to make purchases on Amazon.

This was a very bad thing….that happened at a very good time.

I am SO THANKFUL that it happened before returning to Saint Vincent!

  1. I was able to quickly get my card shut down by phone (I don’t have a US number in Saint Vincent)
  2. I took cash out of my account at a local bank for expenses while waiting for a new card
  3. And was able to use my parents credit card (then electronically reimburse them) for expenses that had to use a credit card

If this was in Saint Vincent, I would have to wait until the new debit card arrived in the mail. This would take two to three weeks! Also I use my debit card overseas, so there would be serious cash problems.

Sometimes bad things happen in life, and we focus only on how bad they are. But if we stop and think about it, we can see the Grace and mercy of God in that situation.

I will be happy when that new debit card is in my hand.

But I’m thankful God used that bad thing to remind me that He is good.
