Missionary Memory: It’s Good to Be Missed

Today’s missionary memory comes from August 30, 2021. That was the day I returned to Saint Vincent from a furlough in the States. There were lots of people excited to see me back that day, but none of them were more excited than my dog Vincy (short for Vincentian).

It took him a moment to recognize who I was….but from that moment he never left my side!

I am greatly enjoying being able to spend time with family and friends in the States. But also know there are people (as well as animals) who anxiously anticipate my return. This is a good thing of course, because if they miss you, it means you are making a difference in their lives.

The truth is, I miss them too. And am looking forward to being re-united.

There is a balance in the last weeks of a furlough

Part of me is trying to make as many memories as possible with loved ones in the States since I will miss them in SVG. And another part is excited about being back in Barrouallie.

and that’s okay since a part of me will be in both places.

So, I cherish the last moments remaining with my American family.

And look forward to seeing my Caribbean one.
