Using Open Doors

Using Open Doors

Yesterday afternoon I sat down with three eighth grade students, and finished reading “The Fire Cat” by Esther Averill.

  • It is a very basic book
  • The book itself is very old….the cover is about to fall off, and its missing pages
  • And they have heard the story before
  • But that simple book captured their full attention
  • They were actually EXCITED about my reading from that old book!

Yesterday I wrote about a young man who had wandered away from the Lord (you can read about him here). While his sin breaks my heart, the Lord has provided some secondary students who are till open to Him.

Sometimes doors of ministry close. When this happens, we don’t push against that door, but use the one that God has opened.

Trust me as someone who has tried to open those doors…it doesn’t work.

Instead, the Lord calls us to keep offering the hope of those Gospel to those who reject Him. But our energy and time is poured into those who are listening.

Pray for me as I let God open closed doors

And rejoice in the ones that are still open.
