Being There in Desperate Moments

Yesterday afternoon I got a phone call from a friend whose sister who got back from having surgery done on a broken ankle.

She got back Friday, but her sutures were showing signs of infection.

I immediately started getting ready to take her back to the hospital….

Saint Vincent doesn’t have many people who drive vehicles since they are expensive, and parts have to be ordered overseas.

Most rely on public transport vans which is good for normal use, but don’t work well in emergencies.

I’ve made it clear to friends in desperate times, I will come.

Over the years, the Lord has allowed me with my beloved van “Goldie” to rescue them in those desperate moments.

Of course it is about more than just a van ride

It is about being there in a desperate moment.

It’s an honor to be a person call in their time of need.

And a greater honor to show up, and help them
